Maple Lake Floral suffered major damage on Saturday evening when vandals throwing rocks broke three windows in the front of the store.
Owner Darrel Jensen said the incident occurred between the hours of 3:30 p.m. when he left the store and 6 p.m. when he was contacted and informed of the damage by the Wright County Sheriff’s Department. He said deputies determined that the vandals threw the rocks from across the street, causing from $3,000 to $4,000 in damages.
Jensen said robbery was not the motive and there was no attempt made to enter the store. “It was just malicious destruction of property,” he said.
A $100 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of those involved in the crime. Anyone with information can contact Jensen at 963-8860 or the Wright County Sheriff’s Department at 274-3035.
