Memorial Day events planned

Maple Lake’s Memorial Day activities to commemorate the sacrifices of veterans is set for Monday, May 30.

The annual parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the American Legion Club and travel to the city park. Units involved in the parade are asked to meet at the Legion at 9:30 a.m. The parade units will include the Maple Lake Fire Department, Legion and VFW Color Guards, Firing Squad, Legion and VFW members, Sons of the American Legion members, Legion and VFW Auxiliary members, and local Boy and Girl Scouts.

At the city park, the procession will gather around the Memorial Monument for a program to honor the memory of area veterans. The keynote speaker will be Korean War veteran Roger K. Olson of Hutchinson.
