Ronald J. Lauer, Maple Lake

Ronald J. Lauer, age 73, of Maple Lake died Monday, August 28, 2006, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2006, at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Maple Lake, with Fr. Mark Huberty officiating. The pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members of Maple Lake Fire Department. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Chatham Township, Wright County. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Ronald James Lauer was born May 2, 1933, in Mandan, ND, to Theodore C. and Dina A. (Loran) Lauer. In 1951 he graduated from Maple Lake High School and then served his country during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Marines. Starting during high school, he worked his entire lifetime in the lumber business at Central Lumber in Maple Lake, Mora & Sandstone; Windom Lumber, Windom; Fullerton Lumber in Kimball & Bird Island; and for the past 41 years for Maple Lake Lumber Co., Maple Lake. Ronnie was a member of St. Timothy’s Church, Catholic Order of Foresters and Maple Lake Legion Club Post #131. For many years he instructed gun safety classes and was a Charter/Life member of the MN Deer Hunters Ass’n. Ronnie was a former member of the Sandstone and Kimball Fire Departments and was a 26-year member of the Maple Lake Fire Dept. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; 5 children and their spouses, Mike and Deanna, Mark, Sharon and Rick Heberling, Bart and Marlys, Tom and Melissa, all of Maple Lake; 6 grandchildren, Jason, Kate, and Ann Heberling; Jordan, Dominic and Alana Lauer; 5 step-grandchildren, Alicia, Derek, Adam, Daniel and David Northenscold; and a sister, Doris Turner of Mokelumne Hill, CA.

The arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
