Irish band concludes successful marching season

The Maple Lake High School Marching Band had a busy June and will bring the month of marching to an exciting conclusion.

The Marching Irish had a good start to the summer at the Glencoe Parade on June 8th, taking 2nd place.

The following weekend was very busy with four parades, starting in Princeton on Thursday, the 12th. With 10 bands competing and no class divisions, Maple Lake took 5th after several AAA bands, topping both Annandale and Hutchinson, which are AA Bands.

June 14th found the Irish in two parades. The MLMI took 2nd place at Sartell in the morning and finished 1st in Class A at the Buffalo Days evening parade. The band again took a 2nd-place finish at the Hutchinson Father’s Day Parade which is always a favorite to compete in and to watch.

Finishing off the parade season on Saturday, June 21st, at Red Wing was a new experience for the Irish. Red Wing is strictly a band competition parade called a ‘Band Classic.’
