Arthur Rigenberg, Maple Lake

Arthur J. Rigenhagen, age 81, of Maple Lake passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. He was born on Aug. 11, 1931, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Appy Scearcy Rigenhagen Sr. Art enjoyed playing guitar, singing and visiting with people. He owned and operated for many years a piano-tuning business and also worked in real estate. Art was a faithful member of the Annandale Evangelical Free Church and often led Sunday afternoon worship services at Park View Care Center. His motto was “Smile, God loves you. He really does!” Survived by his wife: Marcella M. Rigenhagen; children: Gary Rigenhagen, Karen (Russ) Hansen, of Arizona, Debbie (Terry) Hinckley, of Idaho, Brenda (Jim) Harris, of Washington, Marsha (Bob) Boers, of Arizona, Sandy Carlson of Sherburn, Minnesota, Connie (Rod) Hinz, of Granada, and Valerie (Randy) Stafford, of Wells; 17 grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Carol) Rigenhagen and Harold (Evelyn) Rigenhagen, all of Idaho; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Appy Mae; an infant brother, David; a son, David; and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Gladys Rigenhagen. Funeral services for Rigenhagen were Friday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at the Annandale Evangelical Free Church. Rev. Denny Johnson officiated. A visitation was Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Casket bearers were Brad Anderson, Jessica Anderson, Nick Eicholz, Charity Winch, Joshua Hinz and Jeff Pribyl. The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.
