Dorothy E. Olean, Annandale

Dorothy E. Olean, age 92 of Annandale, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 18, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Annandale, with Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Olean, Kipp and Kirk Walberg, Adam Perry and Jerad Frederick. Orma Lou Jacobsma and Bev Sorensen will provide the music for the service. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel and 1 hour prior to the services, Friday, at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Dorothy Ellen Olean was born February 26, 1919, in Albion Township to Alfred and Etta (McClay) Triplett. She graduated from Annandale High School. On May 25, 1939, she was united in marriage in Albion Township to Clarence Oscar Olean. Together, they farmed and raised their family in Albion Township. Dorothy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Annandale. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing and bird watching. Her greatest love was for her family.
She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Donald and Sherry Olean of Annandale and Cheri and Howie Walberg of Annandale; five grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Barb Olean, Melissa and Adam Perry, Melanie and Jared Frederick, Kipp and Carey Walberg and Kirk and Kristi Walberg; seven great-grandchildren, Trevor and Tanner Olean, Carter Perry, Beck, Merritt, Ethan and Ava Walberg; and a sister and her husband, Geraldine and Don Nelson of Annandale. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Etta Triplett; husband, Clarence in 1988; great-grandson, Daniel Clarence Olean; and sister, Beatrice Marohn.
