Edith Hoffman, Annandale

Edith M. Hoffman, age 95, of Annandale, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Parkview Care Center, Buffalo. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Maple Lake, with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Palmer officiating. The music for the service will be provided by Myrna Jude and David Schmidt. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale, and at the church one hour prior to services. There will be a prayer service 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Edith Marie Hoffman was born June 27, 1917, in Rockford to Fred and Josephine (Carpenter) Hines. She married Erwin C. Hoffman on Jan. 22, 1938, and for the next 40 years they farmed in Albion Township, Wright County. Edith would proclaim that when she married Erwin and the birth of each of her children were the greatest moments of her life. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2008, concluding their 70 years of faithful marriage. Edith was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ, the Women’s Guild, and Annandale VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, crocheting, dancing, and most of all spending time with family and friends. She is survived by children, Sandra (Charles) Julian of Hutchinson, Larry (Marlene) Hoffman of Annandale, Jerry (Catherine) Hoffman of Sherwood, Ore., Carol (Al) Mattila of Annandale, Cindy (Chris) Reuter of Maple Grove, Shelly (Jeff) Lersch of Monticello; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Mosher of Buffalo, Laura Nieson of Watertown; brother-in-law, Ronald Hoffman of Annandale; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Al and Bill Hines; sisters, Myrtle Wright, Dorothy Elfstrand, and Marge Bagley; and sister-in-law, Virginia Sullivan.
