Gymnastics team presents awards

The Maple Lake High School gymnastics team concluded a successful season with a banquet at Madigan’s Pub & Grill on March 7. 
The team posted a 6-4 record during the 2010-2011 season, took fourth place at the section meet and sent gymnast Courtney Couette to state in the floor exercise and all-around. 
Coach Kaitlyn Helmbrecht announced the following individual honors: Most Valuable Gymnasts, Courtney Couette and Heather Schlueter; Most Improved, Heather Schlueter; and Hardest Worker, Jordan Sifferle.
In addition, Couette was named as 1st Team All-Conference, with Schlueter taking 2nd Team All-Conference honors. 
Letter winners were: Bonnie Jude, 6th year; Courtney Couette, 3rd year; Heather Schlueter, 3rd year; Courtney Pribyl, 2nd year; Nina Simonette, 1st year; Kristi Reid, 1st year; Jordan Sifferle, 1st year.
