Irish girls close regular season

Last Tuesday, February 22, was Senior Night for the Irish who took on the Holdingford Huskers.
The Huskers came in looking to avenge an 18-point loss to the Irish earlier this season.
The game got underway with both teams playing tough man-to-man defenses. Brooke Decker had the hot hand early and led the Irish with 11 first-half points as the Irish went into the intermission leading by 4 points, 25-21.
Out of the half it was all Huskers who went on a 6-0 run to take the lead by 2, 27-25, and they never really looked back.
“We were in control for the entire first half, but seemed to lose focus coming out of the locker room. The girls battled back as they have many times before, but didn’t quite have enough,” said Head Coach Adam Ronnenberg.
Since it was Senior Night and the last home game of the regular season, all of the seniors were put in the game near the end for one last run on their home court.
