Irish Wear consignment sale planned

The first-ever Irish Wear Athletic Gear & College Wear Consignment Sale is being planned for Maple Lake Elementary and High School. Families can bring in gently-used Maple Lake Irish Spirit Wear, athletic gear, or college wear to sell to other local families. There will be three opportunities to drop off items: August 28 during the Seventh Grade Open House scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. at Maple Lake High School; the Maple Lake Elementary Open House, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on August 29; or the Maple Lake High School Open House from 5 to 7 p.m. on August 29. Clothes must be clean and stain-free, with no holes, rips or tears. Athletic items could include cleats, helmets, knee pads, baseball gloves, head gear and more. All athletic gear will be disinfected prior to re-sale. After volunteers have had time to log, tag and sort the items, there will be three dates when the sale is open for purchases: 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11; Monday, Sept. 24; and Monday, Oct. 15. Sale participants will receive all but 20% of their sale price, with that money going toward expenses and as the first fundrasier for the new high school parent-teacher group, Irish PATHS (Parents and Teachers Helping Students). Funds will also go to the elementary parent-teacher group PIE (Partners In Education). Forms and more information can be found at the district website at www.maplelake.k12.mn.us.
