Keith J. Scanlon, age 81, of Rush City died Sunday, June 12, 2011, at the Cambridge Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 16, at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Maple Lake, with Fr. Michael Izen officiating. The pallbearers will be Daniel Berger, Brady DeWitt, Dustin Kantorowicz, Steven Scanlon, Brendon Wicken and James Carlson. The music for the service will be provided by Marge Pavlik, organist, and the St. Timothy’s Resurrection Choir. Burial will follow at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Chatham Township, Wright County. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, and 8:30-9:30 a.m., Thursday, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake.
Keith James Scanlon was born October 22, 1929, at Montrose to Harold and Dorothy (Ferrell) Scanlon. He graduated from Maple Lake High School and served honorably as a member of the U.S. Air Force.  He worked many years in the Twin Cities area as a lineman for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting, fishing, flower gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by children, Michael Scanlon, Debbie (Dick) Blaha, Kathleen (Tom) Vickerman, Teresa (Bud) DeWitt, Mary (Dave) Carlson, Patti (Dan) Kantorowicz; brother, Michael (Joyce) Scanlon, sisters, Rosmary Bakker, Janie (Gene) Kuhlman, Dianne (Dave) Ristau; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy; brothers, Daryl and Clyde, and sisters, Shirley Starry and Jackie Wurm.
