Kenneth W. Zieska, Annandale

Kenneth W. Zieska Sr., age 83 of Annandale, formerly of Crystal, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at the Annandale Care Center.
Memorials services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011, at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church of Plymouth with Pastor John Strommen officiating. Friends called from 5-7 p.m., Friday, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to Annandale Youth First.
Kenneth Wayne Zieska Sr. was born April 29, 1928, at his home in Minneapolis to Frank and Clara (Bohlman) Zieska. He graduated from Minneapolis North High School. On June 27, 1948, he was united in marriage to Bette Lue Lausten at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Ken worked for many years as a grocer at a number of different Red Owl stores. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and traveling. Ken was proud of the family that he and Bette raised together; they were his greatest love.
He is survived by his wife, Bette of Annandale; children and their spouses, Kenneth Jr. and Marilyn of Plymouth, Margie Shaul of Maple Grove, Jan Lovig-Smith and Tony Smith of Olympia, WA and Michael and Vicki of Maple Lake; nine grandchildren, Chris, Tony, Micah, Lacey, Joel, Heather, Hannah, Elizabeth and Sarah; and five great-grandchildren, Hailee, Ella, Edward, Davis and Eleanor. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Clara; brother, Stan; and sisters, Dorothy Ellickson and Char Abrahmson.
