Leo Joseph Vieau, Howard Lake

Leo Joseph Vieau, age 89, of rural Howard Lake passed away on Monday, January 10th, 2011, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Leo Vieau was held on Thursday, January 13, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Casket bearers were John Robinson, James Allbee, Philip Vieau, Jeff Brand, Debbie Brand and Dean Brand. Father Timothy Cloutier was the Celebrant. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waverly. A visitation was held on Thursday, January 13, one hour prior to Mass at the church.
Leo Vieau was born on September 30, 1921, in Marysville Township, Wright County, the son of Wilferd and Angeline Desotell Vieau. Leo attended The Little Canada School in Marysville Township. On November 25, 1941, Leo J. Vieau and Edna M. Uecker were joined in holy marriage at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. God blessed their marriage with three children. Leo and Edna purchased a farm in Middleville Township, Wright County, in the early fifties. He engaged in dairy farming there for many years. Leo and Edna built and moved into a new home on their farm in 1977. He enjoyed fishing, farming, gardening, his potato patch, his cattle, his family and his grandchildren. Leo was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly.
 Survived by his loving wife of 69 years: Edna M. Vieau; children: Dennis (Barbara) Vieau and Debbie (Dean) Brand, all of Howard Lake; four grandchildren: John Robinson, Heather Robinson, Philip Vieau and Jeff Brand; a great-grandchild: Adrian Robinson; a twin sister: Leah Stump of Buffalo; half-brother: Albert Vieau of Chisholm; sister-in-law: Laurella Vieau of Buffalo; other relatives and friends.
 Preceded in death by a daughter: Darlene Robinson in September 22, 2010, his parents, and by a brother: Harvey Vieau.
