Lightning Third at Eden Prairie Invitational

The Annandale-Maple Lake Lightning traveled to Eden Prairie for an invitational tournament Saturday, Jan. 19, and came away with a third-place finish. Earlier in the week, the Lightning traveled to New London-Spicer, where they suffered a 37-27 loss to the No. 8 ranked 2A team. “We wrestled good against New London-Spicer,” said Lightning co-captain Jordan Hanan. “I think if we didn’t have some guys out, I think we could have beaten them.” NL-S 37, ANML 27 Lightning wrestlers who won their matches on Thursday, Jan. 17, included the following: Nate Carlson won by a decision at 106 pounds, contributing three points to the team’s score; Nick Anderson won by a major decision at 132; at 145 pounds, Hanan won by a pin at 1:18; at 170 pounds, Hendrickson won by a 16-0 technical fall at 5:25, earning five points; at 182, Teddy Erickson won by a forfeit for six points; and Spencer Ogden won by a 3-2 decision at 195.
