Marian M. Thurk, Annandale

Marian M. Thurk, age 89 of Annandale, died Friday, January 21, 2011, at the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Silver Creek, with Rev. David Fretham officiating. Pallbearers are Rev. Hal Hoekstra, David Johnson, Bob LaCroix, Randy Gordon, Brian Gordon and Ed Swingley. Delores Hayes provided the music for the service. Burial is in Corinna Cemetery. Friends can call from 4-7 p.m., Monday, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. A prayer service will be at 6 p.m., Monday, with Rev. Hal Hoekstra officiating. Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Silver Creek.
Marian Mayme Thurk was born November 7, 1921, in Corinna Township to Sam and Edla (Maenpaa) Lusti. In 1940 she graduated from Annandale High School. Marian was united in marriage to Kenneth Thurk on June 28, 1941. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was involved in LWML and the quilting group. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing and baking for her family and friends.
Marian is survived by her two children and their spouses, Clyde and Jean Thurk of Bloomington and Joyce and David Johnson of Two Harbors; two granddaughters and their spouses, Jennifer and Bob LaCroix and Amy and Dave Eberhardy; four great-grandchildren, Jonah, Gabe, Hannah and Tealy; and sister-in-law, Susie Lusti. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Edla; husband, Kenneth; sisters, Sigrid Peterson, Viola Campion, Esther Lusti and Irene Fashant; and brothers, William and Eddie Lusti.
Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
