Mary M. Dircks, age 87, of Maple Lake, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at her daughter’s home in rural Clearwater.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Maple Lake, with Fr. Michael Izen and Fr. Mark Pavlik officiating. The pallbearers were Laurie, Teresa, and Sandra Dircks, Tracy Wurm, Denny Wurm Jr, David Knudson, Jamie Albrecht, and Caty Carlson. The music for the service was provided by Marge Pavlik, organist, and the St. Timothy’s Resurrection Choir. Burial followed at St. Timothy’s Catholic Cemetery. Friends called from 5-8 p.m., Monday, and 9-10 a.m., Tuesday, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There was a prayer service at 7 p.m., Monday.
Mary Margaret Dircks was born March 3, 1924, in Buffalo to Conrad and Ella (Cronk) Vealitzek. She married Bernard “Ben” Dircks on May 20, 1947, and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2007. She was a homemaker and member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by children and their spouses: Richard and Kay Dircks of Murrieta, CA, Rosemary and Curt Knudson of Pinckney, MI, Donna and Dennis Wurm of Clearwater, Thomas and Barb Dircks of Monticello; sister, Catherine Payne of Buffalo; sister-in-law Mildred Dircks of Annandale; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 7 stepgreat-grandchildren; 2 step-great-great-grandchildren, and good friend, Jamie Albrecht of Clearwater. Her husband; brother, Ray Vealitzek; and sisters, Deloris Dircks, Myrtle Porter and Helen Fashant preceded her in death.
