Ned Alan Haney, Maple Lake

Ned A. Haney, age 63, of Maple Lake, died unexpectedly Monday, February 7, 2011 working with his son, doing what he loved.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2011, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake.  Fr. Michael Izen will be the Celebrant. Pallbearers will be McRae and Dale Haney, Ed Sievers, Brian Wurm, Dave Goelz, Jeff Baker and Karsy Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Kennedy Haney-Goelz and Ellie Haney. Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox and Sarah Goelz will provide the music for the service.  Burial will be in Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery, Little Falls. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, and 9:30-10:30 a.m., Friday morning, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake.  A prayer service will be held f 7 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Ned Alan Haney was born May 28, 1947, in Edina to James and Arlene (Lossen) Haney. He graduated from Robbinsdale High School with the class of 1965 and went on to Dunwoody Institute for Carpentry. Ned served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army; he served in the Engineer Company out of Lawton, OK. He was united in marriage to Colleen Clemens on December 14, 1968 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Robbinsdale. He was a member of the Maple Lake Legion and the Annandale/Maple Lake Hockey Association. Ned enjoyed fishing, gardening, music, food and wildlife. He loved to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events and simply spending time at home with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen; children and their spouses, Amber and Brian Wurm of Maple Lake, Ryan and Heather Haney of Maple Lake and Amanda and David Goelz of Hanover; seven grandchildren, Gavin and Nolan Wurm, McRae and Ellie Haney and Kennedy, Nora and Maxwell Goelz; two brothers, Dale Haney of Nowthen and Scott and Kristin Haney of Richfield. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.
