Raymond Adickes, Isle

Raymond Adickes, age 67, of Isle, passed away on October 18, 2012, at his home with his family after a long battle with colon cancer. Raymond Douglas Adickes was born on August 29, 1945, in Maple Lake, to Clarence and Dorothy (Van Lith) Adickes. He attended Montrose Elementary School until the 8th grade, then Buffalo High School, and graduated from Annandale High School in 1963. Ray was in the Army from 1965 to 1967, and served in Vietnam. He married Frances McCalpin on May 12, 1974, at Sacred Heart Church in Rush City. He was a hobby farmer, milk truck driver, gas truck driver, and also drove from coast to coast as a semi-truck driver. Ray enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, gardening, watching Minnesota Twins baseball, and story-telling. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; and his parents, Clarence and Dorothy Adickes. Ray is survived by his children: Donna (Brad Poore) Lyzhoft of Princeton, Dean (Carey) Adickes of Harris, Darcey (David Jr.) Remer of Isle, Darin (Katie Remer) Adickes of Isle, Daryl (Melissa) Adickes of Isle, Devon (Dann Thornton Jr.) Adickes of Isle, Derrick Adickes of Isle; grandchildren, Natalie (Jimmy III), Logan, Cooper, Paityn, Landyn, Evan, Madeline, Lucy, Larkin, Crosby, Amira, Kira, Carter, and Coates; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Abbey, Aidden, Chase, Jimmy IV; siblings, Marguerita Olson of Montrose, Cornelius (Prudy) Adickes of Annandale, Mary Ellen (Bob) Morgan of Thompson, North Dakota, Marlene (Burt) Ramthun of Buffalo, Alan (Carol) Adickes of Mayer, Marcia (Jimmy) Epple of Montrose, Marla (Neal) Maynard of Champlain, Myra (Will) Decker of Palm Desert, California, Monna Rae Adickes of Laurel, Montana, MaDonna (Rick) Adickes of Waverly; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial was 5 p.m., Friday, October 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wahkon with Father Jerry Schik officiating. Visitation was from 2 to 5 p.m. at the church. Military honors were provided by the Isle Honor Guard. Arrangements by Mille Lacs Lake Funeral Home, Isle, MN.
