Robert 'Bob' Peterson, Maple Lake

Robert “Bob” Peterson, age 73, of Maple Lake, died with his family by his side on Thursday, December 23, 2010, at Mercy Hospital, Coon Rapids.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Maple Lake, with Fr. Michael Izen officiating. The pallbearers were Mike, John and Dan Peterson, Irvin Stemm, Gary Yanish, and Ken Wurm. The music for the service was provided by St. Timothy’s Resurrection Choir and Marge Pavlik, organist.  Burial was at the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery, Little Falls. Friends called from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, and 9-10 a.m., Wednesday, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There was a prayer service at 7 p.m., Tuesday.
Robert “Bob” Edward Peterson was born May 27, 1937, in Minneapolis to Clifford and Gertrude (Gagnon) Peterson. He was a 1955 graduate of Maple Lake High School and was a twenty-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during both the Korea and VietNam Wars. He married Letitia “Tish” Kahlhamer on February 24, 1978, and following his military career, worked 20 years for the City of Maple Lake Maintenance Department. He was a member of the Maple Lake Legion Post 131 and Maple Lake VFW Post 7664. He enjoyed his grandchildren, his dog Sophie, and the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
He is survived by his wife, Tish of Maple Lake; five children and their spouses, Milissa Peterson of San Diego, CA, Dana and Mike DeZiel of Buffalo, Daniel and Khaliun of Eagan, Steven and Sara of Maple Lake, Brian and Erin of St. Paul; seven grandchildren, Megan and Hanna DeZiel, George and Leo Peterson, Sydnee, Ella and Parker Peterson; brothers, Russ (Karen) of Fridley, Jim (Marge) of Maple Lake, sister, Deborah (Kenneth) Karson of Bemidji. His parents and brother, John, preceded him in death.
