Shamrock Golden Word of the Week

Maple Lake Elementary’s “Shamrock Golden Word of the Week,” program focuses on ‘Golden Words’ or words like exquisite, generous, gloomy, etc. which boost students’ expressive vocabulary. There is one golden word of the week each week for the rest of the school year. Each classroom will be coming up with unique sentences using the golden word of the week and posting them by the pot of gold display in the school hallway. Below are the best sentences from each grade level:  
Shamrock Golden Word of the Week: Radiate 
Kindergarten: “Mrs. Tongen radiates when she sings!,” from the class of Andrew Neumann 
1st grade: “When my brother told me I could buy his iPod Touch I felt excitement radiate inside me,” from the class of Tami Kolehmainen 
2nd grade: “A lava lamp can radiate bright lights,” from the class of  Stacy Schneider 
3rd grade: “The sun gives off radiant beams of light,” from the class of Rhonda Carlson 
4th grade: “We radiate peace,” from the class of Tim Staloch
5th grade: People can radiate by their personality,” from the class of Nicole Ressler 
6th grade: (at Wolf Ridge last week, no sentence)
