Stewartville, Sauk Centre end Irish volleyball season

As if becoming the first section champions in school history wasn’t enough to excite a team, walking through a tunnel of high-fives and pats on the back from proud classmates and staff pushed the Maple Lake Irish volleyball players to the brink of anticipation.
Arriving at the State Volleyball Tournament Banquet, reality began to sink in and the realization of reaching their goal was an experience unlike any other. Dressed to impress, all section champions were introduced by class and recognized for their great achievement. The state teams were followed by the 2011 Hall of Fame Inductees: Lonnie Morken and Dan Westby. Next on the agenda were introductions of members on the All-State team. Along with many others, Maple Lake’s very own setter, Brooke Decker, received the honor of being part of the team.
