Irish Homecoming set for Sept. 23-27

 

Events are being planned for the Maple Lake High School 2013 Homecoming,set for the week of Sept. 23-27.
The week begins with the annual Powder Puff football and He-Man volleyball contests between the “Jailbreak Juniors” and “Sci-Fi Seniors” on Sunday. 
The Powder Puff game will begin at 4 p.m. at Irish  Stadium and the He-Man volleyball game is set for 6:30 p.m. in the high school gym.
Coronation of the 2013 Irish Homecoming King and Queen will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, in the MLHS auditorium. A bonfire and activities will follow on the ballfields near the playground.
Dress-up days throughout the week are as follows: Monday, Slumber Party Day; Tuesday, Mix Match Day; Wednesday, College Logo Day; Thursday, Fun in the Sun Day; Friday, Spirit Day.
Athletic contests for the week will have the Irish volleyball team hosting Kimball at 7 p.m. on Thursday and the football team will host Kimball at 7 p.m. on Friday.
During the week a raffle for the “Half-time Hunger Helper”, which includes one large pizza and a pop during the football game, will be conducted, in addition to a Scavenger Hunt and a Pepfest on Friday. The annual Homecoming Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday at the city park, with lineup to begin at 5:30 p.m. 
A dance will be held after the football game until midnight in the MLHS gym, with junior high students to leave at 11 p.m.
