Library fall fundraiser to include several new features
A new event, new entertainment and a new menu will be a part of the fifth annual Friends of the Maple Lake Library fall fundraiser on Oct. 5 at the Maple Lake American Legion Club.
In addition to the live and silent auctions, a wine pull is being added to the event. Numbered corks will be sold for $10. Each cork number matches a number on a bottle of wine. When all the corks have been sold, the corks will be pulled and the cork-holder will win the corresponding bottle of wine. Also, besides ensuring a bottle of wine for each purchaser, each cork bought earns a chance in the drawing for a one-year membership in the Maple Lake Wine and Spirits Wine Club.
Longtime Maple Lake band director Joe Thomas will be playing his saxophone as musical entertainment at the event.
Cottage Gourmets will provide a menu including appetizers; pork medallions with apple cream sauce; wild rice, cranberry and hazelnut pilaf; green beans with browned butter; salad with roasted carrots and dill; cheddar cheese and whole grain breads; and apple crisp.
