St. Pat’s draws crowd

Grand Marshal Greg Thomes takes a photo as he passes the judges’ stand on the parade route.

It may not have been a record-breaker, but the 37th annual Grande Day parade was impressive in its own right.
An estimated 5,000 people took in the sights and sounds that came along with the more than 110 entries featured in the parade.
“I thought it went very well and we had a couple new things again,” parade organizer Irene Hudek said.
John Hines of WCCO Radio served as honorary grand marshal.
“John Hines was the most convenient person I’ve ever had to deal with,” Hudek said. “He has already been on WCCO and said we were great hosts and he enjoyed the parade, so that was neat to hear.”
