Irish softball team wins first two tilts

Despite the winter storm advisory warning, the Irish softball team was still able to compete in their season opener on April 3 against St. Cloud Cathedral, inside the St. Cloud State University Huskie Dome.  With veteran junior righty Kennedy Haney-Goelz on the mound for the Irish, they came up with a 5-1 win.
In the last inning of the game, eighth grader, Linsey Rachel drove in a three-run homer to lock in the win for the Irish. Freshman catcher Morgan Scheiber was 2-3 at the plate, with a solid appearance. Knudsen, Blizil, Zappa, Callahan, Rachel and Rose also rallied for hits, for a combined eight hits in all for the Irish.
