Intersection work to help complete future projects

Crews work to replace the water main and storm sewer at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Division Street. It is one of four intersections being improved to help with future construction projects.

Work is being done at four local intersections to make future improvements easier to complete.
On Monday and Tuesday, the water main and storm sewer were replaced at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Wright County Road 7, also known as Division Street. Water was shut off for businesses and residences west of the intersection to Robert Avenue North, east to Birch Avenue South and north to Minnesota Highway 55, with The V by HH and Madigan’s Bar and Grill operating with a temporary water source.
Maple Lake Public Works Director Jerry Sawatzke explained the purpose of the work.
“Four years from now, we’ll be able to work on this street (Maple Avenue) and not have to dig up the county road again,” Sawatzke said. “That’s the same thing we’ll do on Elm Avenue.”
