The Maple Lake 8th grade boys traveling basketball team traveled to Sauk Rapids on Saturday, Dec. 6th. The boys finished in 5th place by beating St. Michael-Albertville 49-47 in overtime. On Saturday, December 13, the team finished 1st in a tournament in Howard Lake. They defeated Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 24-8 in the first game. The Irish then played Annandale and won 38-32 in a very hard-fought game. In the championship game the Irish prevailed over Lester Prairie by the score of 46-40.
