James Joseph Antil, 62 of Aitkin, died Sunday, December 28, 2014, at his home, surrounded by the things he loved most – his wife and pets. He was born November 13, 1952, in Anoka to James F. and Joan A. (DeMars) Antil. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1972 to 1987. He worked for the U.S. Department of Defense as an analyst for the National Security Agency.  Jim was united in marriage to Linda Pelleu on October 22, 1999, in Corolla, NC. He lived in many interesting places, including several countries overseas, and chose to retire to Aitkin, MN.  He was a volunteer with the Kinship program and with Wild and Free Wildlife Rehabilitation Program, and a member of the American Legion.  He loved his wife, family and friends, and fishing – in that order, he said, though some thought otherwise.  In addition to his passion for fishing, he loved history, was an avid reader, and loved nature and animals – both wild and domestic.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim is survived by his wife, Linda Antil of Aitkin; siblings, Jackie Berges of Maple Grove, John (Mary) Antil of Maple Lake, Julie (Dave) Mansk of Annandale,  Janelle Antil of Aitkin; and Kinship partner, Jared Zoellner of Aitkin.
He requested no memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to Wild and Free Wildlife Rehabilitation program if desired – PO Box 241, Garrison, MN, 56450. Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin assisted with arrangements.  www.srtfuneral.com
