Located just west of the State Hwy. 55-Co. Rd. 8 intersection, Roger’s BP-Amoco has long been a reliable local provider of everything from gasoline to groceries, coffee and quick meals for the road, snack items and a wide assortment of last-minute notions to make any trip better, whether long or short. Owners Tom and Irene Hudek invite local shoppers, daily commuters and drivers from around the area to stop in and fill up on an array of essentials in just one quick stop.

Roger’s convenience store is a magnet for local travelers looking to limit their windshield hours, offering frozen foods, groceries, a deli, the lottery, snacks, appetizers, cigarettes, pop, candy, health and beauty aids, greeting cards and other miscellaneous items. Coffee and hot breakfast items are available to bolster morning commuters, and Roger’s Hot Stuff Pizza, Smash Hit Subs and freshly-made deli sandwiches are a hit with the lunchtime crowd.

Originally opened in downtown Maple Lake by the late Roger Niedzielski as a car repair shop with gasoline, Roger’s BP-Amoco has been a local fixture for 45 years. The convenience store was added in 1990, when a new station was built in the present location on Highway 55, and a car wash was added in 2008. Today the store employs 22 people from the local area.

Customers browsing through the store’s walkways will soon come upon a F’Real milkshake machine that also makes smoothies and frozen cappuccinos, blended to the individual’s desired thickness. Its menu features an impressive array of options: Mocha frozen cappuccino is offered, as well as mango, strawberry and other fruit-flavored smoothies. Milkshakes can be selected in flavors of chocolate, chocolate malt, vanilla, strawberry, mint chip, peanut butter cup, cookies and cream, or cotton candy. To round out the assortment, Roger’s also serves up Caribbean Crème Slushies in fruity flavors that include strawberry and blue raspberry.

Commuters can count on Roger’s reliable coffee machine to serve up steaming cups of Colombian, French roast, house blend, Jamaican Me Crazy and decaf. An arsenal of flavor pumps stand nearby, ready to heighten the experience with unsweetened enhancers such as Snickers Kickers, French vanilla, pumpkin spice, hazelnut and blueberry cobbler.

Roger’s car wash, self-serve and automatic, is always open, offering a choice of Express, Deluxe or Super Wash. On Fridays, the spotlight is on a taco-in-a-bag special. And free 12-ounce coffee, offered every Wednesday, has built a loyal following. Even more regulars have been attracted to the free BP Driver Rewards loyalty program, with its at-the-pump gasoline discount opportunities. Roger’s also offers a choice of two credit card programs – BP or Visa – which include rewards on gasoline purchases and more. Applications for all are available now at Roger’s.
