It is difficult when someone in the community passes away, and It is even harder when that person touched so many people’s lives in so many ways. Roger Riesgraf was a friend, family member and role model for many in Maple Lake. Ask anyone who has lived in Maple Lake and crossed paths with the late superintendent of Maple Lake schools.
Everyone seemed to have known him as a great man, a leader, friend and father. The whole community was hit hard when hearing of Riesgraf’s passing after a long fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Many knew him through his work as a veteran and as the superintendent of Maple Lake High School, but his life was a very vibrant one and worth sharing to those who had known him. It is sad to see his passing, but at the same time his life should be celebrated now and in the future.
