The Maple Lake volleyball team cruised to two wins last week.
On Tuesday, Sept. 13, the Irish handed Sartell-St. Stephen a 3-0 loss in nonconference action. Then on Thursday, Sept. 15, Maple Lake hosted Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted and defeated the Lakers 3-0.
Sartell-St. Stephen as no match for the Irish despite the Sabre’s home-court advantage, falling 25-16, 25-18 and 25-22 to Maple Lake.
On Thursday, the Irish squeaked past the Lakers 26-24, in a close first match that had the home crowd on its feet. Maple Lake went on to defeat HL-W-W by more comfortable margins, 25-16 and 25-9, to continue their perfect-season record.
