County approves Toward Zero Deaths grant

As part of the Sept. 27 Wright County Board meeting, Captain Todd Hoffman of the Wright County Sheriff’s Department presented the board with a grant application for $27,200 from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety dealing with the agency’s Toward Zero Deaths program,
For a decade, the DPS has promoted the Toward Zero Death program, featuring drunk driving and seat belts as the primary focus of the grants. However, County Board Chair Pat Sawatzke said the focus should be more on distracted driving, which is a growing concern nationwide.
