Irish volleyball team tops D-C, defeats B-B-E

The Maple Lake volleyball team is ranked No. 2 in the state, according to the latest poll after two more wins last week.
The Irish are now 17-1 overall and 4-0 in Central Minnesota Conference standings after defeating Dassel-Cokato and Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa.
The Irish hosted the D-C Chargers on Tuesday, Sept. 27, and defeated the non-conference foe 3-0 with game scores of 25-12, 25-22 and 25-15.
Olivia Marquette went four-for-eight serving with 20 assists and three digs; Amber Klug went 10-for-four serving with one ace, eight kills, 20 assists and four digs; Linsey Rachel went 17-for-17 serving with three aces, 12 kills and seven digs; Morgan Scheiber went eight-for-nine serving with two aces and 13 digs; Brynn Paumen went 10-for-10 serving with three kills and one dig; Mollie Scheiber went 18-for-19 serving with 10 kills and 10 digs; Kaleigh Beehler had six kills and one dig; Kora Fuller had one dig; and Brielle Paumen had three kills.
