RICHARD J. WURM, Maple Lake

Richard J. Wurm, age 78, of Maple Lake, died Friday, October 7, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. October 15, at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. Rosary to start at 10:00 a.m.
Richard (Dick) was born on March 10, 1938, in Maple Lake to George and Sadie (Jensen) Wurm. He married Jacquelyn R. Scanlon on June 11, 1960, at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Maple Lake. He worked as a 49er operating heavy equipment for 40+ years. In his spare time, Dick enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, playing cribbage, and, of course, socializing at the Maple Lake American Legion Club. Above all, Dick enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Bruce Wurm (Sandy Korkki) of Plymouth; Gayle Erger of Maple Lake; Tim Wurm of Buffalo; Pat Wurm (Jennifer Kohout) of Buffalo; siblings, Dorothy (Jim) McHugh of Burnsville; Rita (Charlie) Schoen of Watkins; Joyce (Jesse) Clayton of Emily; Bob (Carol Mae) Wurm of Maple Lake; Keith (Sandy) Wurm of Maple Lake; and his eight grandchildren, Jamie Wurm (James Sainio), Ashley Wurm (Shane Pierce), Zachary Wurm, Anthony Wurm, Brayden Wurm, Caleb Wurm, Travis (Rachel) Erger, and Traci (Brad) Salveson; and great-grandchildren, Connor, Hailey, Jaxson, Paisely, and Haylee. He was proceeded in death by his parents, George and Sadie; his wife, Jackie; brother, Maurice; and great-grandchild, Paige.
