The Irish volleyball team secured the Central Minnesota Conference title with a 7-0 record Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Eden Valley-Watkins after defeating the Eagles 3-0 on the road.
The Irish had already beaten all seven teams in the conference, most in three games. Only Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa pushed the match to four games before finally falling to Maple Lake.
“It was a competitive conference,” assistant coach Amy Voigt said. “All teams but one had a winning record.”
The win also boosted the Irish’s overall record to 23-3, which earned the team the No. 1 seed in the 6AA south subsection.
