The Irish volleyball team dominated its first Section 6AA playoff match, Thursday, Oct. 27, defeating No. 8 seed Zimmerman in three games to move on.
As the No. 1 seed, the Irish had the home-court advantage and they didn't waste it, cruising to a 25-13 first-set win. Maple Lake claimed the next two games 25-11 and 25-18 to secure a spot in match two, which was also to take place at home, this time against rival Annandale on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
“We were very confident,” junior outside hitter Mollie Scheiber said. “I think we all played well. Everyone on our team had a good night.”
