The Lightning wrestling team won two out of three matches in Little Falls, Friday, Jan. 6.
ANML began by squeaking past Little Falls 37-36, lost big to No. 2 ranked team in Class A Pierz, 54-8, then handily defeated Albany 51-27.
Joe Driscoll gave the Lightning its big one-point finish when he pinned Flyers’ Ryan Graves at 285 pounds. ANML was down by just five points at the time. His pin was worth six points.
“There’s no way to get a more exciting ending than that,” coach Ben Youngs said.
ANML won eight of its matches to Little Falls’ six, but the Flyers’ six wins were all pins.
