Irish win two

Cole Trager goes up for two points.

Irish boys basketball players had a busy week with three games in four days, two of them on the road, but they didn’t disappoint.
The young Maple Lake ball players tacked two more wins to their record, beating Central Minnesota Conference foes Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 58-45 and Pierz 76-60. The Irish had one loss for the week against the non-conference St. Cloud Cathedral to boost the home team’s record to 4-5 overall and 2-0 in CMC standings.
Maple Lake kicked off the week on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at B-B-E. The Irish started out slow, trailing by as much as eight early in the game, but crawled back to within one by the break to make the score 29-28.
