Rasset named “Rising Star Counselor of the Year”

Katie Rasset, daughter of Les and Kitty Rasset, was recognized as the 2017 “Rising Star Counselor of the Year” by the Arizona School Counselors Association (AzSCA). Rasset is committed to working collaboratively with fellow educators, community members, and families at Dysart High School. The Rising Star award recognizes individuals who run top-notch comprehensive school counseling programs and who have been in the profession five years and under. After graduating from Maple Lake High School in 2001, Rasset continued her studies at the University of Minnesota in Duluth and graduated in 2006. She then moved on to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff and graduated in 2015. Rasset taught for eight years and won the Dysart Hero award in 2012 and 2015. Since, she has shown tremendous growth in her two years as counselor and was appointed the department lead this school year.
