Bette L. Zieska, age 85, of Annandale, formerly of Crystal, died Sunday, April 30, 2017, at the Cardinal Memory Cottages at the Annandale Care Center.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Visitation will be held from 4:30-7:00 on Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Maple Lake. Memorials are preferred and will be used to benefit the community.
Bette Lue Zieska was born August 1, 1931, at Midway Hospital in St. Paul to Lester and Margaret (Hedican) Reams. On June 27, 1948, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Wayne Zieska Sr. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. She enjoyed basket making, quilting, sewing, making jewelry, painting, crocheting, playing cards, reading, and casino trips. Bette was exceptionally proud of the family she and Ken raised; they were her greatest love and accomplishment.
Bette is survived by her children and their partners, Kenneth, Jr. and Marilyn of Plymouth, Margie Shaul and Larry Brust of St. Louis Park, Jan Lovig-Smith and Tony Smith of Olympia, WA, and Michael and Vicki of Maple Lake; grandchildren, Chris, Tony, Micah, Lacey, Joel, Heather, Hannah, Sarah and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Hailee, Ella, Eli, Eddie, Drew, Davis, Eleanor, and Buckley; siblings and their spouses, Otto and Annette Lausten of New Hope and Mary Margaret and Ron Taylor of Chanhassen; and nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Bette’s grandchildren will serve as urnbearers. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
Bette’s family would like to extend a special Thank You to the caregivers of Cardinal Memory Care Cottages, and North Memorial Hospice for the love and care they provided for Bette.
