Lakers down Buffalo 19-7 at home

The Maple Lake Lakers celebrated the career of longtime player and coach Chad Raiche on Sunday afternoon when he was inducted into the North Star League Hall of Fame after 19 seasons of play. The Lakers hosted the Maple Plain Diamond Devils Friday night. Nick Preisinger got the start and kept the Devils off the board until the third when they drove in one. The Lakers couldn’t get much going against Maple Plain starter Andy Johnson, a former pitcher at Butler, but got things going in the fifth after his removal when Mitch Wurm drew a two-out walk and was driven in by a single from Riley Decker. That inning ended in controversy when Donnie Mavencamp ground out with the bases loaded due to possible catcher interference.
