The Maple Lake baseball team is on its way to state for the second time in two years after cruising through the Section 5AA tournament without a single loss.
The No. 1 seeded Irish beat Providence Academy twice on two different days to earn the right to play at Dick Putz field in St. Cloud on Thursday, June 15, in round one of the state games.
Armed with the home-field advantage, the Irish took care of Providence 7-3 on Monday, June 5, in game three of the section tournament.
