Softball players take home awards


At right, the Maple Lake softball team held its awards ceremony on Sunday, Au. 6, to celebrate a near perfect season that saw the team to a runner-up finish at the state tournament. Several athletes earned awards for their efforts. They are, front row, from left, Peyton Tongen; Morgan Scheiber was named to the Second Team All Conference, earned Academic All Conference and the Golden Glove Award; Calli Maki was named to the First Team All Conference, All Section Team, was All State and Academic All Conference; Mollie Scheiber was named to the First Team All-Conference, All-Section Team and was Academic All Conference; Megan Carlson; Ellie Haney who was named to the Second Team All Conference, was Academic All State, Academic All Conference, and named Most Improved.
