Kenneth K. Rudolph, age 99, of Annandale, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at the Buffalo Hospital.
Funeral services were held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 19, at Annandale United Methodist Church with Rev. Mary Keen officiating. Burial followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale. Visitation was from 3-7 p.m. Friday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale, and one hour prior to the service, Saturday, at the church.
Kenneth Kiehn Rudolph was born April 28, 1918, at the family farm in South Haven to Cecil and Martha (Kiehn) Rudolph. He grew up in rural South Haven and graduated from Annandale High School with the Class of 1936; they were the first class to go all the way through school in the 1922 building. On October 16, 1943, he was united in marriage to Sadie LeNora Schultz at the Annandale United Methodist Church. Together, they farmed and raised their family in rural South Haven. Kenneth also supported his family as a carpenter.
Kenneth was extremely active in the community. He was a member of Annandale United Methodist Church, served as a Sunday School superintendent, served on the bi-district camp board for a church camp near Spicer and was on the Wright County Historical Society Board for five years. Kenneth volunteered at Pioneer Park, was the Annandale Community Band director for 17 years and played in the St. Cloud Municipal Band for 50 years. He was instrumental in procuring the Annandale community portable stage which bears the Rudolph name. Kenneth was known for his scroll saw work and the over 200 caps that he knit. In 1998, Kenneth was recognized for his contributions to the community in being named Wright County Senior Citizen of the Year.
Kenneth is survived by his daughters and son, Shirley Bruns of Annandale, Diane (George) Jensen of Melrose and Keith Rudolph (Barb Zeches) of Eagan; five grandchildren, Brent (Sharon) Bruns, Bryan (Tracy) Bruns, Becki (John) Kelly, Ross (Melissa) Jensen and Kevin Jensen; and 11 great-grandchildren Derek (Melissa) Bruns, Riley (Alec) Fournier, Adam Bruns, Jack, Cody and Bailey Kelly, Hailey, Kendal, Nicole, Sadie and Layla Jensen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Martha Rudolph; wife, Sadie Rudolph; son-in-law, Dwayne Bruns; and great-grandchild, Tyler Jensen.
The pallbearers were Brent Bruns, Bryan Bruns, Becki Kelly, Ross Jensen, Kevin Jensen and Derek Bruns. Sharon Planer, Tracy Bruns and Riley Fournier provided the music for the service. Arrangements were entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
