Irish fall to Huskers in Homecoming loss

No. 80, Alex Toedter, makes a break for it. He scored the Irish’s first touchdown of the night Friday, punching it in from two yards out.

The Maple Lake High School football team lost its Homecoming game, 20-15, to the Holdingford Huskers on a pleasant, fall evening, Friday, Sept. 29, despite a valiant effort on the field.
The Huskers jumped to a 7-point lead as time expired in the first quarter. Irish players rallied for a touchdown of their own in the second when Alex Toedter reached the end zone from two yards out to cut Holdingford’s lead to 7-6. The extra point was no good.
