Prom and Post Prom Party set for April 16

The Maple Lake High School Prom will be held on Saturday, April 16. The evening will begin with the Grand March at 8 p.m., winding through the high school gym and auditorium. Two tickets for the Grand March will be issued to each student attending prom. Tickets are required for seating in the gym. Non-ticket holders can watch the Grand March as it trails through the high school auditorium.
Following prom, the annual Post Prom Party will kick off with games and entertainment scheduled for the entire night. The Post Prom Party will run from midnight to 6 a.m. and will be held in the elementary school gym. This year’s party theme is “Hollywood Nights.”

Shamrock Golden Word of the Week

Maple Lake Elementary is starting a new vocabulary project called “Shamrock Golden Word of the Week,” which focuses on ‘Golden Words’ or words like exquisite, generous, gloomy, etc. which boost students’ expressive vocabulary. There will be one golden word of the week each week for the rest of the school year. Each classroom will be coming up with unique sentences using the golden word of the week and posting them by the pot of gold display in the school hallway. Spring Program planned at St. Timothy's

The annual Spring Program at St. Timothy’s School is planned for 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, in the school gym. The program, under the direction of music teacher Carrie Yerke, is entitled “The Seven Sacraments.” All students from kindergarten through sixth grade will be participating in the program. The students will be acompanied by Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox and Paul Stokman. Arts and Academics projects will be available for viewing in the halls and classrooms after the program.

St. Tim's to host Spring Auction & Dinner

St. Timothy’s School 14th Annual Spring Auction & Dinner is set for Saturday, April 9, at the Maple Lake American Legion. The theme of this year’s event is “Celebrate America” and the dinner of prime rib and chicken will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. The Silent Auction will run from 5 to 8 p.m. with the Live Auction conducted by Frank Sullivan set for 7:30 p.m. Winner of the car raffle will be announced at the event. Tickets for the dinner and raffle are available at St. Timothy’s Parish office, the school office and at First National Bank of Maple Lake.

Elementary to host Track & Field Day

The annual Track & Field Day at Maple Lake Elementary will take place on May 27 at the MLHS stadium and track. The day begins at 8:30 in the Irish Stadium where grades 1-3 will have their running events, and grade 4-6 will patriciate in field events. After a lunch break in the school, the afternoon activities will begin with Grades 1-3 participating in field events and Grades 4-6 doing running events. Elementary Track and Field Day is open to any parents who wish to watch their child/children.

Senior Awards Night set for June 1

The senior class at Maple Lake High School will be honored at Senior Awards Night on June 1, starting at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. A variety of awards and scholarships will be presented at the ceremony, followed by a reception for seniors and their parents.
