Mass of Christian burial was at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta for Chloe Caroline Fruth, 16, of Maple Lake, who died Friday in Minneapolis. Rev. Robert Rolfes officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives called on Monday, February 20, 2012, from 4 -8 p.m. at St. Mary Help of Christians and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Parish prayers were conducted at 7 p.m. on Monday at the church.
John F. Dougherty, age 78, of Annandale died Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale, with Rev. Thomas Queck officiating. Urn bearers were John's 12 grandchildren and the partners of the two married grandchildren. Julie Starkey and Jim Dougherty provided the music for the service. Burial was at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area 5, in Minneapolis. Friends called from 5-7 p.m., Friday, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, both at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale. A prayer service was held at 6:45 p.m. on Friday at the church.
Charles Joseph Veches, 63, of Ava, Missouri, passed away on February 29th, 2012, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Charlie (also known as Joe) was born April 16th, 1948, in Buffalo, MN and grew up in the Maple Lake and Annandale area. The summer of 1967 Charlie, along with his brother, David, joined the Army; their brother, John (Jack), was already serving in the Army. Charlie spent 9 years in the Army and served two tours of duty in Vietnam for one year each and earned two purple hearts.
Mary Beth Hauwiller, age 65, of Maple Lake died Thursday, February 23, 2012, at the Buffalo Hospital.
Visitation began at 1 p.m. with Memorial Services held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the Buffalo Evangelical Free Church with Pastor John Carlson officiating. The music for the service was provided by Cathy Engbloom and Amy Kellerhuis.
Marvin R. Paumen, age 84, of Buffalo passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Park View Care Center.

Casket bearers were eight grandsons: Justin Paumen, Josh Peglow, Carl Paumen, Derek Paumen, Caleb Kalinowski, Zach Peglow, Ethan Kalinowski and Trent Kalinowski. A visitation was held on Sunday, February 26, at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo from 4-8 p.m. Further visitation was held on Monday, February 27, at the funeral home from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Helen M. Engel, age 79, of Waconia, formerly Mayer, passed away Sunday March 11, 2012, at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.
Funeral Mass was Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 11 a.m., St. Mary’s Catholic Church (607 Maple St.), Waverly, MN, with Father Kenneth O’Hotto as celebrant of the Mass. Visitation was Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home (141 E. First St.) Waconia, MN, and at the church one hour prior to the Mass. Vigil prayers were on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and interment was at Howard Lake Cemetery. Casket bearers were Dick Klemz, Bob Engel, Rich Klemz, Craig Mooney, Mike Ahlm, and Joe Ahlm.
Danny Leroy Muller, age 67, of Independence, Kansas, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at his residence in Independence.

Mark Mooney, 61, of Loretto, formerly of Maple Lake, died March 12, 2012.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 16, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greenfield. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church on Thursday, March 15. Interment was in the church cemetery. Casketbearers were Tom Bermel, Mike Berthiaume, Ron Doboszenski, Rick Reinking, Pat Walker and Tom Ward.
Margaret K. Duarte, age 91 of Monticello, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012, at her home. Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 449 West Broadway, Monticello. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be a private interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery of Minneapolis. She is survived by sons, Chris (Jean) Duarte of Kansas City, KS, John (Bonnie) Duarte of Pine City, MN, James (Merente) Duarte of Ham Lake, MN, and Edward Duarte of Ham Lake, MN; daughters, Margaret Duarte of Glenwood City, WI, and Jane (Gary) Anderson of Monticello, MN; sisters, Mildred Sullivan of Baxter, MN, and Pearl Heacock of Buffalo, MN; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Marcus; grandson, Jason Anderson; brothers, Ray and Harold. Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.
