Golfers hold onto conference lead

The Maple Lake boys golf team still led the Central Minnesota Conference after two meets last week.
The Irish traveled to Brooten and Osakis on Friday, May 20, for two separate meets.

Irish golfers continue to lead conference

Aiden Jude won medalist honors at his home meet at Whispering Pines.

The Irish boys golfers still lead the Central Minnesota Conference despite a rough day out on the course last week.
Maple Lake golfers traveled to Kimball on Thursday, May 5, for their fourth CMC meet of the season. The Irish, who have become accustomed to winning, felt the nibble of defeat when they took second to Osakis by one stroke.

Irish softball wins two on the road


Mollie Scheiber, #6, got a hit for the Irish at Thursday’s home game against Paynesville.

Amber Klug, #3, stole third base and was safe.

The Irish softball team is on a six-game winning streak after handing Paynesville two double-digit losses at a double-header in Paynesville, Thursday, May 12.
The win boosts Maple Lake’s record to 13-3 overall and 9-2 in the Central Minnesota Conference.

Lakers fall to the Muskies


Making the second half of the double play at first base was #19 Chad Raiche.

Starting on the mound for the Lakers vs. Sartell afternoon game was #16 Jeremy Schmidt.

The Maple Lake Lakers couldn’t get much going this weekend with a rain-out on Friday and a blowout on Sunday.

Irish baseball wins two, loses one on the road

The Irish baseball team did well in a series of double-headers on the road last week, outlasting Eden Valley-Watkins twice and Paynesville once before falling to the Bulldogs in game two.
A sixth inning rally spurred the Maple Lake team on to a 13-0 victory, Tuesday, May 10, in game one against Central Minnesota Conference foe Eden Valley-Watkins.

Maple Lake trap team moves up to third in their conference

This week Maple Lake’s trap team had three student athletes in the top 25 in the conference. They are Ian Larson, Tim Vogel and Emily Jude.
Larson is currently tied for 9th place in Class 1A - Conference 6 and has an overall season average of 20.0.

State isn’t in the cards for Irish track

The Maple Lake track teams finished second and third at the True Team Section 4A Meet, Tuesday, May 10, just missing a return trip to the True Team State Meet.

Irish girl golfers continue to improve

Katie Webb, Andrea Peterson and Ashlee Martie take a couple practice swings before competing at Whispering Pines in Annandale on April 26.

Kaitlyn Webb is in 14th place in Central Minnesota Conference standings and Andrea Peterson is in 18th after two more meets.
On Tuesday, April 26, the Irish hosted its own meet at Whispering Pines Golf Course in Annandale. Webb and Peterson both shot 57s for the day and Ashlee Martie shot a 58.

Track gears up for True Team meet

The Irish track team is gearing up for the section True Team meet after mixed results at two meets last week.
On Tuesday, May 3, the Irish traveled to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa where the boys team placed third and the girls sixth.
On Friday, May 6, Maple Lake traveled to St. John’s where the girls improved to third and the boys to first.
