The Maple Lake girls basketball team is weary of the road after three games in a row away from home, the last two resulting in losses.
On Tuesday, Dec. 20, the Irish traveled to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted where the team fell 57-32 to the 0-5 Lakers.
On Thursday, Dec. 22, Maple Lake endured its second loss of the week, falling 45-36 to St. Cloud Cathedral.
The Irish played soundly on both ends of the court to take an early 11-5 lead, Tuesday, but taking advantage of several Irish miscues, the Lakers answered with a 14-0 run for a 19-11 lead.
Maple Lake battled back before the half and trailed by just four, 21-25, thanks to a buzzer-beating jump shot by Morgan Scheiber.
