2017-18 Homecoming Fobbe, Stecker crowned queen and king

Henry Stecker and Catie Fobbe were crowned 2017-18 Homecoming king and queen, Monday, Sept. 25, at the Maple Lake High School Homecoming Coronation. Last year’s royalty Ben Triplett and Jennifer Malwitz returned to do the crowning honors. Earlier in the month students chose 10 candidates to challenge for the honor. Homecoming week kicked off on Sunday, Sept. 24, with Powderpuff Football and HeMan Volleyball. Monday night’s bonfire was cancelled because of rain, and the Homecoming parade was postponed to Friday, Sept. 29, at 5:45 p.m. Throughout the week students will celebrate with dress-up days concluding with a pep-fest Friday afternoon and then the main event, the football game versus Holdingford, starts at 7 p.m. followed by a dance. The week of fun, which included Powder Puff Football, HeMan volleyball, parade, coronation and bonfire, will culminate on Friday, Sept. 29, with the big Homecoming football game featuring the Irish vs. Holdingford. The game starts at 7 p.m. with a dance to follow.
